Reynaldo Cano

Reynaldo Cano, 81, beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

Reynaldo was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He served our community as a firefighter with the Brownsville Fire Department; retiring in 1996 after 40 years of faithful service to the fire department.

Reynaldo was a proud veteran having served our country as a member of the United States Air Force. Reynaldo used to say he was a Jack of all Trades and a Master of None. He enjoyed watching Western movies and spending time with family and friends. Reynaldo was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Reynaldo was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Serrata Cano; his parents, Martha Vargas Cano and Antonio Cano; and a sister, Irma Cano.

Reynaldo is survived by his children: Martha E. Cano, Rose Marie Schryer and her husband Bill; Abie Solis Jr. and his wife Emilia, Cyril Solar, Celsus S. Solar and his wife Holly, and Robert James Solar and his wife Elby; two brothers, Antonio Cano and his wife Tina and Roberto Cano and his wife Victoria. Reynaldo was a loving and devoted grandfather to his 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and an equally devoted uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Reynaldo's wishes, he was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Military Honors and Last Call by the BFD will be held prior to the chapel service which will be conducted by his brother, Deacon Roberto Cano. All services will conclude on Sunday after the chapel service.
