Ricardo Ricky Arellano Sr.,51, passed on to a better life on May 28, 2012 in Galveston,Tx. After a short but hard fought battle with cancer. His beloved son was by his side as were his mother and wife..

He was born and raised in Brownsville,Tx. but moved to Galveston,Tx. where he met his wife of 20 years. He was a devoted father to his son, Little Ricky, who was also his playing buddy and best friend. Ricky was always ready and willing to help anyone that needed help offering to do whatever it was since he was a jack of all trades and a master of some. There wasnt a Dallas Cowboys game as well as a San Antonio Spurs game that him and his son didnt watch together. When the Cowboys had summer camp in San Antonio, Ricky, Little Ricky, Suzette and both his mom and sister Christy would head there. We will forever cherish those trips and treasure the memories.
He was preceded in death by his father Patricio Arellano, Sr.,two older brothers,Jose Alberto Arellano,Sr. and Patricio Arellano,Jr. as well as a younger brother Rolando Boy Arellano. His maternal grandparents Aurelio and Juanita Cisneros and paternal grandparents Juan and Tomasita Arellano also preceded him in death.
Ricky is survived by his wife Suzette Ovalle Arellano and his beloved son Ricardo Arellano,Jr. as well as his mother Hortencia C. Arellano and his brother Raul Pat Arellano and sisters Julia Julie Christina Arellano and Janie Emilio Reyes plus numerous aunts,uncles,nephews,nieces,great nephews,great nieces and many cousins.

Visitation will be from 12Noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the DarlingMouser Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military Honors to be conducted by American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers are his nephew, Raul Patricio Arellano,two cousins Mauro Cisneros,Jr. and Alberto Cisneros and his four brothersinlaw,Robert Alvarado,Steve Alvarado,Samuel Alvarado and David Martin.

Honorary pallbearers are his cousins Juan Johnny Arellano,Armando Arellano,John Anthony Estrada, Fernando Arellano, Santiago Cisneros,Jr. and Aurelio Antonio Tony Cisneros as well as his nephewsinlaw ,Ivan Sanchez,Adalberto Cortes,Chris Neidewidz,Adam Young,Reed Overhaug and Ed Roeschel his cousininlaw Nick Sultemeier and his best friends since childhood, OtonielCalelGuerreo,Jesus Chuey Reyna and Gerald Salazar.
Also serving will be his greatnephews,Patrick Arellano,Thomas Christopher Neidewidz, Gavin Thomas Overhaug ,his sisterinlaw,Pat Arellano and his dear friend from Galveston and now Pflugerville,Texas.,Richard Bo Lopez.
