Ricardo Garcia Vallejo, 54, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, surrounded by his loving family.
Ricky as he was affectionately known to all was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville.
Ricky was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Felicitas and Santana Vallejo; three brothers, Charlie, Enrique and Albert Vallejo; his maternal grandfather, Sylvestre Garcia; and his maternal aunt, Gloria Garcia.
Ricky is survived by his wife Maria Luisa; a daughter, Carmela Milagros; his step-children: Patricia, John Franks, and Michael Steve Stevens; his siblings: Rosalinda (Daniel) Perez, Alicia (Ruben) Hurtado, Maria de Jesus (Rolando) San Miguel, Santana (Linda) Jr., Roberto (Yolanda), Samuel (Elena), Maricela (Omar) Ramos, Maribel, Cristina, and Patricia (Juan Carlos Lerma) Vallejo; his maternal grandmother, Dominga B. Garcia; and numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 and continue through 8:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The recitation of the holy rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Darling-Mouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 555 West St. Francis St. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Ricky's brothers, Santana and Samuel Vallejo; his nephews, Anthony Vallejo, Trino Lyons, and Juan Carlos Lerma Jr. and his uncle, Jose Eligio Garcia are honored to be serving as Ricky's pallbearers. Michael and John Franks Stevens, Roberto Vallejo, and the rest of his nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
