BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Robert Wilheim "Taco" Acres, beloved father, grandfather, husband, son and brother, entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 31st of January 2025. He was 73 years of age.

Born on July 28, 1951, in Mexico City, Mexico, Robert lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and love for his family. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine Corps E8 Master Sergeant and was a veteran of the Desert Storm Iraq War, specializing in embarkation.

His military service was a testament to his unwavering sense of duty and responsibility-qualities that carried through every aspect of his life.

After retiring from the Marine Corps, Robert continued his commitment to service by working in accounting for the Brownsville Independent School District (BISD). His meticulous nature and strong work ethic made him a valued member of the team until his well-earned retirement.

Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Robert had a deep passion for life's simple joys. He loved motorcycle riding, model building, fishing, and taking road trips-activities that reflected both his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for craftsmanship and detail. Whether exploring new roads or working on intricate models, he found fulfillment in pursuits that required patience and skill.

Above all else, Robert was a devoted family man. He was a loving father to his daughters Victoria and Cindy and a proud grandfather to Robert and Anthony. His siblings George, James, Lory, and Bernadette shared in the bond of family that meant so much to him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Graciela "Chela" Calzada Acres; his sister Mary Lou; and his parents, George and Maria Acres.

Robert was known for being kind-hearted, hardworking, honorable, and steadfast in his values. He took pride in doing what was right and never wavered in standing by those he loved. His family could always count on him-his support never faltered even in the final moments of his life. His presence brought comfort to those who leaned on him for guidance and strength. Robert's legacy is one of love, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
