Robert Charles Escobedo, 70, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 05, 2016, at his residence in Brownsville, Texas after a battling cancer for eight years.
Robert retired as a Social Security Technical Expert in January 2014 after 42 years of service. Robert served as a military policeman in the U.S. army during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Robert was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family but by all those fortunate to have known him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Carlos and Concepcion Escobedo and his son, Diego Escobedo.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving companion, Maria Elena Pliego; his son, Carlos Adrian Escobedo; sisters and brothers; Deborah Escobedo Abrego, Belinda Escobedo Canonico (Frank), G. Thomas Escobedo , Arnold B. Escobedo; grandson, Diego Adrian Escobedo numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. Monday, November 07, 2016, and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 08, 2016 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. All services will conclude after mass and cremation will follow at Val Verde Memorial Crematory.
