Mr. Robert L. "Bob"� Wallace, 85, of Brownsville, TX and formerly of Paris, IL, passed away peacefully at Valley Baptist Medical Center on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, with his family at his side.
Bob was born in Paris, IL to Frank and Flossie Wallace. He married the love of his life, Barbara Sprague on Dec. 31, 1952 in Paris, IL. They spent 60 wonderful years together as husband and wife. Bob was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and close friend to many.
Bob spent 30 years in the family construction company in Paris, IL. Bob and Barbara moved to Brownsville in 1981, where Bob started his construction career with Adams Bros. Construction and then with W. Murray Thompson Construction of San Benito.
Bob and Barbara were faithful members of First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville. Bob was also a life member of the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #812 in Paris, IL where he served as Exalted Ruler, Secretary, Trustee and numerous other offices.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Sprague Wallace.
Bob is survived by his sons, Dirk (Patricia), Lee (Mary), and Joe Wallace; his grandchildren: Hope (Terry) Fueyo, Jessica Wallace, Christopher (Ashley) Wallace, Patricia Wallace, A.J. Wallace and Katie Wallace; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Waunitta (Donald "Buck"�) Hiatt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
At Bob's request there will be no funeral services. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, in the East Chapel at Daring-Mouser Funeral Home, 945 Palm Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to the First Presbyterian Church, 450 Palm Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520 and or the Elks National Foundation, 2750 N. Lakeview Ave., Chicago, IL 60614, 1-773-755-4700 and www.elks.org/enf.
