Roberto Z. Hernandez, 86, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and greatgrandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.
Mr. Hernandez was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army having served his country proudly during World War II under General Patton. Mr. Hernandez was the proud recipient of a Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Stars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo and Angelita Zamora Hernandez his first wife, Sara Hernandez his son, Ernesto C. Hernandez his brothers, Raymond Hernandez Jr. and Rodolfo Z. Hernandez and a sister, Lydia H. Guerra.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving wife, Juventina Y. Hernandez his children, Arnulfo C. Hernandez, J. Robert C. Hernandez, and Teresita de Jesus Hernandez Josue Silguero a stepdaughter, Graciela Y. Luis A. Lozano his sisters, Elida H. Castro, Gloria H. Rodriguez, Elvia H. Hernandez, and Estela H. Diaz 7 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Sunday, June 6, 2010 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday evening at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. The American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard under the direction of Commander Raul Leal will render military honors at the graveside.
