BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Roberto Gonzales, Jr., affectionately known as Robert, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, the 26th of August 2022 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence surrounded by his family. He was fifty-six years of age.
Robert was born on February 11, 1966 in Brownsville, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, yardwork, and was an excellent handyman. As an avid Cowboy fan, he got very involved in the football games, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Most Sundays were spent grilling in the backyard with friends and family. He enjoyed his occupation as an electrician and was a very hard and meticulous worker.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Roberto Gonzales and Yolanda Castillo Gonzales; and brother, David Gonzales.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Patsy Killebrew Gonzales; two sons, Aaron M. Gonzales and Marcos A. (Ashley) Gonzales; step-daughter, Jessica L. Garza (Leo Lopez); grandson, Nathan A. Gonzales; step-grandchildren, Briann N. Lopez, Mia L. Lopez, and Layla J. Lopez; three brothers, David (Elsa) Arredondo, Vicente (Mary) Arredondo, and Daniel (Tim) Gonzales; sister, Nora Liza (Manuel+) Manrique; and step-mother, Esperanza Gonzales; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 30th of August 2022 between the hours of four o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at seven o’clock Tuesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude Tuesday night. Cremation will follow.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hospice of Harlingen and Dr. Alejandra Ponce. A very special thanks to Maria Mejia for her excellent at home care.
