Rodolfo Rudy Monster Cantu, Sr., 58, beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and friend, of Brownsville entered into eternal rest at his residence on Thursday, August 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Mr. Cantu was born in Brownsville on March 24, 1954 to Pablo Cantu and Lucia Duran Cantu. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Rodolfo Rudy Cantu, Jr and a granddaughter, Nevaeh Sky Leal.
Left to eternally treasure their memories of him are his loving wife of 40 years, Rosie Cantu, his daughters Jennifer and Amy Cantu, all of Brownsville his siblings, Palmira Carlos Hernandez of San Benito, Alicia Salvador Garcia of Brownsville, Romana Julio Morales of Brownsville, Pablo Uvalda Cantu, Jr of Brownsville, Rey Dolores Cantu of Ducor, CA, Celia Rene Medina of Brownsville, Mary Gerardo Anderson of Brownsville, Lucy Tony Ramirez of Brownsville, Rolando Sandra Cantu of Brownsville and Rosie Cantu of Aurora, IL. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Stephen M. Delgado, Alyson Cantu, Jordan Davila, Jade Rodriguez and Benjamin Rudy Leal, a greatgranddaughter, Jenalee G. Delgado and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Sunday, August 5, 2012 and continue until 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home.
The funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 155 E. Jefferson St. with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Honored to be serving as Mr. Cantus pallbearers are Rolando Cantu, Rey Cantu, Jordan Davila, Mike Delgado, Raul Arellano and Eleno Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pablo Cantu, Benjamin Rudy Leal, Raul Torres, Jr. and Rolando Aguilar, Jr.
