Rodolfo Rudy Gil Reyes, Jr., 47, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Rudy was born on October 25, 1964 in Brownsville, Texas to Rodolfo and Lydia Cortez Reyes.
Rodolfo was better known as Little Rudy. He had a tremendous heart of gold, and a remarkable smile. He enjoyed all types of music, especially his favorite George Straight. He loved to dance with his mom, and smiled away as he had her in his arms. He loved traveling, spending time with his nieces and watching videos of family events. He was very proud of his brothers band Grupo Illusion. Rudy loved basketball, and was known for his half court 3 pointers. He was a 1987 graduate of South Texas High School in San Benito. He was a member of Saint Luke Catholic Church.
Rudy will be severely missed by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his loving heart and smile
He is preceded in the death of his paternal grandparents, Arnulfo Reyes, Sr. and Maria Pereida Reyes and maternal grandparents, Alfonso Cortez Sr. and Guadalupe Ramirez Cortez.
He is survived by his parents, Rodolfo and Lydia his siblings, Roy Carmen Reyes of Brownsville, and Norma Jesse Marroquin III Reyes of Brownsville two nieces, Reba Lynn and Cory Lynn Reyes, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rudy will be severely missed by all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his loving heart and smile.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 4 p.m., and continue until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr., with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Honored to be servings as Rudys pall bears are Jesse Marroquin III, Enrique Reyes, Carlos Reyes, Alfonso Chito Cortez, Alfredo Cortez Jr., and Heriberto Perez. Honorary Pall bears will be John C. Wagner Jr., Wayne A. Wagner, Jesus Reyes, Alfredo Cortez, and Sabas Cortez.
