Rogelio C. Larrasquitu, 80, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
Apa as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren loved gardening and was very proud of his garden and sharing with his family, friends and neighbors. He was a man of faith who instilled morals, values and integrity to his children. He always place God first then family and friends in his life.
Mr. Larrasquitu is preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Zenaida Larrasquitu his son Efrain Larrasquitu, his brothers Ramiro, Arturo, Alfonso, and Armando Larrasquitu.
He is survived by his wife Rosa M. Larrasquitu of Brownsville, seven children, Sandra L. Buitureida of Houston, TX, Janie L. Danny Villelda of Brownsville, TX, Martha P. Oscar Chapa of Brownsville, TX, Diana L. Joe Garcia of Brownsville, TX, Claudia L. Jorge Thomas of Brownsville, TX, Susana L. Jorge Sanchez of Brownsville, TX, Rogelio Melissa Larrasquitu, Jr., 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers Sergio C. Larrasquitu and Julian C. Larrasquitu, sisters Raquel L. Vela, Rosa L. Garza, Elvira L. Pizana and Estela L. Barrios.
Visitation was held Monday, November 14, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service that started at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel of Darling Mouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Edwin Sanchez, Jorge Sanchez II, Antonio Buitureida, Jr, Oscar Chapa, Jorge Alberto Thomas and Joe Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Villelda and Jorge Alberto Thomas, Jr.
