Rosa Cardenas, 85, of Brownsville, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her daughters residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Cardenas and her husband Eladio, owned and operated Cardenas Tortilla Factory and Grocery for twentyfive years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eladio L. Cardenas, a son, Jose Cardenas, a grandson, Jose Joaquin Cardenas, Jr., a sister, Margarita Urbano.
Left to eternally treasure her memory are her children, Noe Cardenas, Jose Joaquin Nora Cardenas, and Gloria C. Saldana of Brownsville nine grandchildren five greatgrandchildren two sisters , Inocencia Urbano and Lupita U. Justilian and two brothers, Isidoro G. and Jose W. Urbano of Brownsville and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will begin Monday, June 21, 2010 at 9 a.m., and continue until 9 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7 p.m., in the East Chapel of DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Honored to be serving as Mrs. Cardenass pallbearers are Marcos Cardenas, Miguel Cardenas, Noe Cardenas, Jr., John Howard, Arturo Gandara and Alejandro Lopez.
