Rosa Linda Gomez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Rosa Linda Gomez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 31st of December 2023 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence surrounded by her loving family. She was fifty-two years of age.

Rosa was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 13, 1971, and raised by her late grandfather, Nemecio Perales. She attended local schools and went on to obtain her associate's degree. She was very hardworking and provided for her family. Despite her illness, Rosa kept busy and remained joyful, always laughing and never upset. She was kind to others and had a heart of gold. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and playing loteria.

Preceding Rosa in death was her grandfather, Nemecio Perales, and her grandmother, Margarita Perales.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Oscar G. Gomez; her daughters, Roxanna Gomez (Margarito Castro), Zulema Basaldua (Buddy Holbrook), and her favorite, canine daughter and best friend, Lucy; her grandsons, Adam Castro and Raevyn Holbrook; and her sisters, Elizabeth Perales, Maria de la Luz Perales, and Esmeralda Soto.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 4th of January 2024 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at six o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. 

Visiting hours will resume on Friday, the 5th of January 2024, from ten o'clock in the morning to two o'clock in the afternoon. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Guillen Community Cemetery, 9055 Boca Chica Boulevard, Brownsville.
