Rosa Sierra De Leon

Rosa Sierra DeLeon passed away on Saturday, August 25 at the age of 85 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 20, 1933 in Brownsville, Texas to Gaspar and Rosa Sierra DeLeon. She attended Immaculate, graduated from Villa Maria High School, and attended two years of college. She then worked for CTS for 13 years, and prior to her retirement, she worked at Walmart on Boca Chica Blvd.

Rosa was one of fifteen siblings who was nurturing and caring not only with her brothers and sisters but also with her nieces and nephews as well as with their children. She was a jovial human being with a big heart who took giving to the next level. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed attending mass regularly and helping out at her parish of Immaculate Conception Cathedral whenever possible. Selfless, loving, and funny pretty much describes La Tia Rosa, as she was lovingly called by her numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed and dearly remembered.

Rosa Sierra DeLeon is preceded in death by her parents Gaspar and Rosa DeLeon, her sisters Delfina (Humberto) Cisneros and Antonina+(Esteban+)Davila, and her brothers Jesus DeLeon, Carlos+ (Rosa) Deleon, and Gaspar + (Paula+)DeLeon.
She is survived by her sisters Olivia Gonzalez, María Elena DeLeon, Lourdes (Jose+) Medina, Guadalupe (Juan) Caballero, Evangelina ( Manuel+) Alcala, Dolores (Juan) Gracia, and her brothers Humberto (Ninfa+)DeLeon, Lorenzo (Juanita) DeLeon, and Jose Angel (Nelly) DeLeon.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. at The Immaculate Cathedral. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
