Rosa M. Pesina, 72, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Rosa was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. Together with her husband Jose, she owned and operated East Avenue Grocery Store, a small pop and mom grocery store for 35 years. She retired 7 years ago due to health reasons. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
Rosa was a very loving and giving person sharing all she had with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who was in need. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose M. Pesina; her parents, Manuel and Ester Moreno, 2 grandsons, John and Jonathan Garcia; and two brothers, Antonio and Reynaldo Moreno.
Left behind to eternally treasure her memories are her children:
Norma P. Juan Garca, Jos M. Nora Pesina Jr., Graciela Manuel Sandoval, Lus Pesina, Arnoldo Pesina, Esmeralda Noe Garza, and Leticia Mauricio Rivera; her brothers and sisters: Manuel, Pedro, and Santiago Moreno; Anglica Espinosa, Sylvia Lozano, Maria Concepcin Lozano, and Herlinda Limn. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Jennifer Pesina, Virginia Sandoval, Erik Garcia, Vanessa Sandoval, and Manuel Sandoval Jr.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2008 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rosas sons, Jose M. Jr., Luis, and Arnoldo Pesina; her sons-in-law, Juan Garcia and Manuel Sandoval; and Encarnacion Gonzalez are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons: Erik Garcia and Manuel Sandoval Jr.
Rosas family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Juan Martinez and Dr. Daniel Malasko and their staffs for the compassionate care provided to their mother these past few years during her illness.
