Rosa Casias Rey, 63, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. We find comfort in knowing that she is being cradled in the arms of our Lord.
A native of Roseville, Texas, Mrs. Rey had been a resident of the San Pedro community for many years. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her 30 parakeets but her greatest in caring for her grandchildren.
Mrs. Rey was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Dolores Cruz Casias and her brothers, Cruz Casias Jr., and Pablo Casias.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her husband of 47 years, Jacinto E. Rey; her children: Juan Miguel Yvette Rey, Marco Antonio Lilia Rey, Reynaldo Elva Rey, Rose Mary Manuel Rodriguez, Yvonne Rey; the 10 grandchildren that were her pride and joy: Miguel Antonio Monique Rey, Ivana Dominique Rey, Reynaldo Jr., Gabriel Rey, Alejandro Isabella Rey, and Clarissa Alysandra Martinez. She will also be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters: Pete Casias, Adelita Casias Garay, Virginia Vargas, Rodolfo Casias, Lydia Ruiz, and Lucy Casias; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008 at San Pedro Catholic Church in San Pedro. Interment will follow at San Pedro Cemetery. Mariano Rey III, Miguel Antonio Rey, Hector Rey Jr., Miguel Angel Amaya, Hugo Ramirez, and Willie Torres Jr., are honored to be serving as Rosas pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Rey, Hector Rey Sr., Luis Rey, Mariano Rey Jr., Manuel Rodriguez, Jesus Amaya, and her very dear friend Blanca Villarreal.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Juanita Torres for religiously coming to pray over our mother every night since her diagnosis in 2007.
