Rosalinda "Rosie" Medina de Rodriguez, 80, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Medina de Rodriguez was employed with the Texas Department of Health Human Services for 29 years, as well as with the I.C.E.S. at the Brownsville International Airport for several years. She was a devout Catholic who served as a catechist for 10 years at Christ the King Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Rosalinda loved to play Chinese checkers and Loteria Chalupa, solving Sudoku puzzles, and enjoyed listening to musical hits by Elvis Presley and Vicente Fernandez. Rosalinda also accompanied her husband Rey within their ministry as they visited patients at numerous nursing homes and hospitals. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Angel and Maria Flores Medina; infant brother, Arnoldo Medina and by her adult brother, Arnoldo Medina.
Mrs. Medina de Rodriguez is survived by her loving husband, Reyes J. Rodriguez; her only son, Rene I. Garcia (Lourdes); sisters, Gloria M. Gonzales (Romulo+) and Nereida M. Goans (Carl Lee); granddaughters, Kimberly Angelina Garcia and Rachelle Rene Garcia; and by her sister-in-law, Elvira M. Medina.
Visiting Hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the West Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Committal services will then follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
