Rosario "Chala Or Rosie" Ramirez

Rosario Ramirez, 102, made her final transition to her heavenly life on Friday, September 12, 2014, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas.

Chala and or Rosie, as she was affectionately known to all, was a lifetime resident of Brownsville.

Chala worked for 28 years for Pan American Airways. When Pan Am left Brownsville, Chala then started a career with the City of Brownsville that would span another 28 years. Chala was the secretary to the City Manager and served under twelve City Managers during her tenure with the city.

Chala is preceded in death by her parents, Rosario and Florentino Ramirez four sisters and two brothers.

Chala is survived by her nieces and nephews: Cornelio Nouel, Gloria E. Nouel, Maria Luisa Cadriel, Gracie Day, Latch Delgado, Christina Ramirez, Florentino Ramirez Jr., and Nola Ramirez along with numerous other extended family members.

A graveside service will be held today, Wednesday, September 17th, at 2:00 p.m. at Buena Vista Burial Park.
