Rosario Rodriguez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. –  In loving memory of a Rosario Rodriguez, a devoted single mother of three whose faith in Jesus illuminated every aspect of her life. Rosario was born on December 15, 1940, in Brownsville, Texas, and peacefully passed away on Sunday, the 25th of February 2024, in her hometown.

Rosario's journey began with early challenges, marrying young and subsequently finding herself a single mother of three children. However, her indomitable spirit and inner strength propelled her forward. With unwavering determination, she made a courageous move to Sacramento, California, and later settled in Elk Grove, California, where she provided a loving and nurturing home for her family.

Rosario's dedication and hard work in the Sacramento Unified School District earned her a respected position as a community service social worker. Her commitment to serving others was deeply rooted in her faith, and she saw her work as a reflection of her love for Jesus.

Upon retiring, Rosario felt a calling from the Lord to return to her roots in Brownsville. There, she dedicated herself to various ministries, tirelessly serving her community and spreading love and compassion wherever she went. Rosario had a deep love for prayer, finding solace and strength in her conversations with God.

Rosario was preceded in death by her parents, Florencio Galvan and Julia Galvan, and her siblings Ruben Galvan, Rudolpho Galvan, Florencio (Floyd) Galvan Jr., Raquel Makos, and Rosa Lemon.

She is survived by her siblings, Rebecca Brizzee and Ruth Duncan; her children Richard Rodriguez, Edward Rodriguez, and Maria Magdalena Sayson (Ernie); her grandchildren Ana Craft (Brian), Elijah Sayson (Anisa), Jesse Clendenen, and Carli Clendenen; her great-grandchildren Claire Craft, Karis Craft, Victoria Craft, Isaiah Sayson, and Micah Sayson; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Everything Rosario did was a testament to her faith and love for the Lord. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire generations to come.
