Rose Marie Jordan, 80, our beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility in Olmito, Texas after a brief but valiant battle against cancer.
Rose, a native of Buffalo, New York, came to Brownsville in 1959 and together with her husband Bart, introduced Italian cuisine to our community when they opened Gios Villa. Little did Rose and Bart know that they were establishing what would become a landmark in Brownsville. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed playing bridge. Rose was a life master Duplicate Bridge player. Rose was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Bart G. Jordan a son, Michael Anthony Jordan and a sister, Frances Kumm.
Roses memory will be eternally treasured by her two sons: Gregory and his wife Leticia and Dominic and his wife Peggy Jordan the seven grandchildren that were her pride and joy her three sisters: Joan Jones, Betty Samson, and Ann Bruckert and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members.
In accordance with Roses wishes, she has been cremated. A Memorial Rosary service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, it was Roses wish that memorial gifts in her name be made to the Guadalupe Regional Middle School, 1214 Lincoln Street, Brownsville, Texas 78521
