Ruben Perez Limon

Ruben P. Limon, 75, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas surrounded by his family.

Ruben was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He was a dedicated employee with the Brownsville Herald for 15 years before retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Ruben was a member of Christ Church of the Valley.

Ruben was a great cook and nothing gave him more pleasure than cooking for his family which was his passion. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren which were the apple of his eye. Ruben also enjoyed going on gambling trips to the casinos in Louisiana.

Ruben was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Elvira and Marciano Limon; four sisters: Otila, Ofelia, Olivia, and Maria; and three brothers: Marciano Jr., Reyes, and Juan.

Ruben is survived by his wife of 41 years, Herlinda G. Limon; six children: Ruben Limon Jr., David (Aimee) Limon, Rose (Armando) Pulido, Belinda Limon, Gabriel, Nelda) Limon, and Elizabeth (Eric) Castillo; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, January 28th and continue through 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this evening at Darling-Mouser. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29th in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Ruben's sons: Ruben Jr., David, and Gabriel along with his sons-in-law, Eric Castillo and Armando Pulido and his grandson, Michael Aaron Garcia are honored to be serving as his pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Rubén's name may be made to Sunshine Haven, 7105 West Lakeside Blvd., Olmito, Texas 78575.
