Ruth L. Scott, 98, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility in Olmito, TX, surrounded by her loving family

Ruth, a native of Cuero, TX had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was always doing something for her family. Ruths passion was gardening and she loved tending to her plants in her garden. Ruth was blessed to be able to work in her garden up until two years ago. Ruth also loved cats and was always taking in the strays that found their way to her doorstep.

Ruth was a devout Catholic. She was a longtime parishioner first at Sacred Heart and in later years at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Ruth was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Arnold Scott a son, Howard Scott five brothers and three sisters.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her son, Robert Scott and his wife Deborah a daughterinlaw, Patricia Scott the eight grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Diedre Glenn Dickerson, Andrew and Gregory Scott, Heather Josh Villarreal, Jessica Thomas Esparza, Travis and Danielle Yates, and Kimberly Scott seven greatgrandchildren two sisters: Pauline Falks and Eileen Bill Murff and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. today and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouse Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 West St. Francis Street. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
