Ruth Vera Splittstoesser

Vera was born in 1942, in Dodge County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and graduated from Claremont, Minnesota High School in 1960.
She worked as a secretaryaccountant in Owatonna, Minnesota, Chicago, Illinois, and Houston, Texas. She was also a fashion show director in New York City before coming to the Rio Grande Valley. Vera was an avid sports fan who also liked country music and her daily newspapers with crossword puzzles and word games.
Preceding her in death were her parents Waldemar and Opal Splittstoesser and her sister, Irene Pirkl.
Vera is survived by her sister, Velma Wardal her two brothers, Walter and his wife Shirley, and David and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
After a short, serious illness, Vera passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 30, 2013. A memorial service celebrating Veras life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, S. Tarnava Street, in Port Isabel, Texas, where she was a member.
In lieu of flowers, Veras family requests that memorial gifts in Veras name be made to Fishers of Men Lutheran Church.
