BROWNSVILLE, TX. - With heavy hearts, yet filled with gratitude for the time we shared, we announce the passing of Ryan Blake Becerra, a vibrant young man who left us at the age of 27. Though his journey was brief, his impact was boundless, and his light will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born in Harlingen, Texas on April 3, 1997, Ryan brought warmth and joy to all around him. He attended school in Los Fresnos and graduated in 2015, then he went on to work for his family’s businesses. His gentle spirit, and loving heart will leave a lasting imprint.
Family was at the core of Ryan’s world. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Freyja Gentry Amador-Becerra; parents, Jose Luis "Joe" Becerra, Aldo Dominguez, and Shestie Denise Gentry; three siblings, Jose Luis Dylan Becerra, Kaylan Denise Becerra, and Megan Nichole Becerra; and a community of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is reunited in peace with his paternal grandfather, Francisco Becerra; maternal grandparents, Roy Leon Gentry and Sandee Diane Gentry; and with his aunt, Sharmon Dylnn Hand.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held where we will gather to honor his memory and share the stories that make us smile. Ryan loved a good burger, comic books, and a nice Hawaiian shirt.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 20th of December 2024 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Friday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 21st of December 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 Lincoln Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville.
Ryan, you were a gift to this world, a reminder of the beauty in connection, the power of kindness, and the joy of simply being present. Though we must say goodbye for now, we know your legacy will live on in the love you gave so freely. Rest peacefully, our dear Ryan.
