Santos Gonzales

SAN PEDRO, TX. – Mr. Santos Gonzales, ninety-three, of San Pedro entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 15th of October 2023 in the comfort of his San Pedro residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Carlota Nunez Gonzales; parents, Marcos and Maximiana Gutierrez Gonzales; a son, Freddie Gonzales; a granddaughter, Angelica Garza; a great-granddaughter, Victoria Jimenez; and by his siblings Jose "Pepe" Hernandez, Guadalupe "Lupe" Hernandez, and Francisca G. "Pancha" Hernandez.

Left to eternally treasure their memories of him are his children Santos Gonzales, Jr., Dora Alicia Troncoso, Julio Gonzales, Elvia Alvarez, Linda Cantu, Carmelita Exinia and Sylvia Torres; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Juan Gutierrez.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 19th of October 2023 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 20th of October 2023 at San Pedro Catholic Church, 7602 Old Military Road, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at the San Pedro Cemetery, Cemetery Road, San Pedro.

Honored to serve as Mr. Gonzales’ pallbearers are his grandsons Eddie, Cristopher, Miguel, Juan Antonio, Tommy, Jeremy, Javier, Michael, and Remigio.
