Sarah Jean Perez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Sarah Jean Perez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 9th of February 2025 at Spanish Meadows in Brownsville. She was 65 years of age.

Sarah was born on October 19, 1959 in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of the late Celestino and Emma Perez. She graduated from Hanna High School where she was a Lady Eagle and competed in the state finals in shot put and discus. She went on to obtain her bachelors in education and was a dedicated educator with the Brownsville Independent School District. After her retirement, she went back to school and became a provider and medical assistant, caring for countless patients. A devout Catholic, Sarah was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brownsville. Her favorite pastimes included working outside in her yard and helping people in her neighborhood. 

Preceding Sarah in death were her parents, Celestino and Emma Perez; her sister, Deborah Ann Duey; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Francisca Olimpitis; and her aunts and uncles Rudy and Mary Fernandez and Frank and Pauline Perez.

Survivors include her siblings Frances Marie Perez, Daniel Perez, and Michael Perez; her nieces and nephews Joshua Luke Perez, Jennifer Winterbauer, Tanya Harris, Thomas Perez, and Daniel K. Perez; and her cherished pets Beethoven, Beth, Blackjack, Hopper, Nibbler, and Sweetie. 

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 19th of February 2025 between the hours of five o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Wednesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. All services will conclude Wednesday night.
