Sheila Wharton Wells, 89, beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, greatgreatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home in Brownsville.
Mrs. Wells was born in Mandalay, Burma on Sept. 6, 1921 to M. W. Jack and Daisy Wharton. In 1929, she came to live in Port Isabel, TX with her parents, a brother, and two sisters. In 1938, she married the love of her life David Stanley Wells Sr. She was a devoted wife and mother who gave her all for her family. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Mrs. Wells is preceded in death by her parents, M.W. Jack and Daisy Wharton her husband, David Stanley Wells Sr., and 2 sisters, Evelyn Nickels and Rose Marie Vining.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her daughter, Edith M. Wells a son, David Stanley Wells Jr., her grandson, Michael Shelley Wells 2 greatgranddaughters, 3 greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Mrs. Wells wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her memory may be made to the Brownsville Animal Defense Fund, 943 N. Expressway 7783, Brownsville, TX 78521.
