Silvana N. Salinas, born on April 7, 1950, was called home to be with our Lord on January 10, 2012 at the age of 61.
Silvana was a native of Brownsville and a prominent administrator for The Bank of the Southwest for many years. She later went on to follow her passion as a teacher at Egly Elementary for 17 years.
Silvana is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Farias her mother, Sara Nieto and a brother, Rodolfo Farias.
Silvana was loved and will be greatly missed her husband of 42 years, Antonio Luis Salinas her two sons, Antonio Luis Jr. fiance Salia Castillo and Marco Antonio Salinas as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Ave.
Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Antonio L. Salinas, Antonio L. Salinas, Jr., Marco Antonio Salinas, Jesse Salinas, James Salinas, David Cabaza, and David Garcia are honored to be serving as Silvanas pallbearers.
