SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX. – Stephen “Steve” R. Wise, known by many as Neto, passed away on Tuesday, the 25th of October 2022.
Stephen is survived by his children Stephen (Andy), Kevin, Nathan, and Amber Wise; ex-wife, Drue Ann Wise; and grandsons Brandon, Ethan, and Maxwell Wise. He also leaves behind his brothers David, Eric, Mark, Richard, and George Wise and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Polly Wise, and by his father, Johnny Wise.
Stephen was born in Richmond, Indiana on March 22, 1952 but quickly made his way to South Texas at the age of two where he remained for the rest of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of San Benito High School.
Steve was an avid surfer, boater, hunter, and fisherman. He was known for his keen math and problem solving skills, acuteness with a tape measure, and eye for detail in craftsmanship.
He was a gentle soul who lived a very simple life. Steve loved live music and playing his guitar, going to Kelly and Rosemary’s ranch in Seguin, and spending time with his family.
For the last twenty-two years he called South Padre Island, Texas his home where he loved living on the bay and frequenting the local establishments with his many friends.
Steve wished to be cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, the 12th of November 2022 from 3:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at Lobo Del Mar Cafe, 204 Palm Street, South Padre Island, Texas 78597.
