Sylvia Rocha Villarreal

ALVIN, TX. – Sylvia Rocha Villarreal, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 11th of June 2023 at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was sixty-seven years of age.

Sylvia was born in Brownsville, Texas on February 9, 1956, daughter of the late Leonardo C. Rocha and Hilaria Perez Rocha. She was raised in Brownsville and graduated from Brownsville High School. An avid sports fan, Sylvia enjoyed watching her Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys play. Her favorite pastimes included baking and cooking, crafting basket arrangements, driving out to the beach, basking in the sun by the pool, going to casinos, shopping, spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Preceding Sylvia in death were her parents, Leonardo C. Rocha and Hilaria Perez Rocha, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Juan S. Villarreal and Josefina P. Villarreal.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Albert P. Villarreal; her daughter, Dannell Alvarez (Juan Carreon); her grandchildren Briana West, Trevor West, Christian Carreon, Johnny Carreon, Jesse Carreon, Joey Carreon, and Jessik Carreon; and her brother, Jerry Rocha (Maggie).

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 15th of June 2023 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 16th of June 2023 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 Military Road, Brownsville. All services will conclude after the mass.
