Tiburcio Sanchez, 83, of Brownsville, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, December 18, 2009, at Brownsville Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by his loving family.
Tiburcio, a lifetime resident of Brownsville, came to Brownsville as an infant. He was born in Taft, Texas on August 11, 1926. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army proudly serving his country during World War II. He was a supervisor for Brown and Root Company and retired after 25 years of faithful service. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing which was his passion, and watching boxing.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Connie Sanchez.
Left behind to eternally treasure the memories they have of him is his loving wife of 60 years, Eugenia Sanchez; his children: Ricardo Sanchez and his wife Elizabeth; Sylvia and her husband Dan Van Coppenolle and their sons William and John; Daniel Sanchez and his wife Connie and their sons, Danny and Sammy, and Elisa and her husband Ruben Gallegos Jr., and their sons Ruben III and Raul Alfonso; his sister, Rosa LaFarge; a brother, Vicente Amalia Sanchez, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws brothers and sisters.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park with military honors conducted by District Commander Luis Lucio and members of VFW Post 2035.
Ricardo Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez, Ruben Gallegos Jr., Dan Van Coppenolle, William Van Coppenolle, and John Van Coppenolle are honored to be serving as Mr. Sanchezs pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his brother Vicente, and his grandchildren Danny, Ruben III, Sammy, and Raul Alfonso.
