Tito Mata Sr., 85, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brownsville.
Tito, a native of Mercedes, had been a resident of Brownsville since the early 1960s. He was very proud to have the distinction of being the first MexicanAmerican Immigration Inspector at the Brownsville Port of Entry. He was known amongst his coworkers for his never ending sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. Tito was a dedicated officer with the INS for 37 years, before retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
In his spare time, Tito who was quite an artist, enjoyed drawing and carving.
