Tomas R. Perez

Tomas R. Perez, 89, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into the glory of his eternal life on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Nadia’s Private Home Care surrounded by his loving family.

Tomas was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He devoted his life to farming which was his passion. In his spare time, Tomas loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.

Tomas was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Tomas was preceded in death by wife, Otalia C. Perez; his parents, Concepcion and Jose Perez; and 2 sisters: Juanita Yzaguirre and Dominga Perez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his children: Maria Elena Perez, Jose Perez and his wife Janie, Yolanda Delgado and her husband Alex Sr., and Lillian Cortinas and her husband Marcial; the 8 grandchildren that were the apple of his eye: Mark (Lorie) Boswell, Jason Perez, Kevin Perez, Alex (Samantha) Delgado Jr., Erick (Alondra) Delgado, Elvis Delgado, Kristopher (Nelda) Cortinas and Kimberly (Abraham) Vasquez along with 8 great-grandchildren. Tomas will also be missed by 4 sisters: Amparo (Ramon+) Partida, Maria del Refugio (Rigo) Treviño, Angelina (Carlos+), and Maria de los Angeles (Ramiro) Partida and his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 pm Monday evening. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19th and continue through 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 19th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Entombment services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Tomas’ grandsons: Alex Jr., Erick, Elvis, Kristopher, Jason, and Kevin are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their grandfather. Mark Boswell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
