Vance Carl Wilson entered into eternal rest at the age of 97 on June 11, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville. Vance was born on April 1, 1913 in Shiner, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Willis, Walton, and Minor a sister, Gladys 2 sons, Don William Robert Billy, a daughter, Wendy and wives Lucille and Alice.

He is survived by a son, Vance his daughter, Terri his granddaughter Candice 11 other grandchildren 5 greatgrandchildren, and by his good friend, Bob A. Austin.

A long time resident of Brownsville, Vance served as an Aviation Pilot in the Navy during World War II, started the radio station KBOR with his brothers, and later began Birds Construction with his second wife Alice.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2035 under the direction of District Commander Luis Lucio.
