Vicente D. Anguiano

Vicente D. Anguiano, 77, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, April 17, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico, Vicente, who became a naturalized U. S. citizen in 1994, had been a resident of Brownsville for many years. He was a proud Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Vicente enjoyed watching football and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and playing the slot machines, but what Vicente enjoyed most in life was getting his family together and having a cook-out. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.

Vicente has now joined those who preceded him in death. His beloved wife: Benilde G. Anguiano; his grandson, Edward John Anguiano; his parents: Mariano and Estela Anguiano; his brother, Ricardo Anguiano, and his aunt, Leonor Anguiano.

Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his children: Estela A. Victor Cortez, Esmeralda A. Rogelio Cruz, Vicente Raquel Anguiano Jr., San Juanita Anguiano, Marco A. Janie Garza, Mariana Anguiano, Alberto Anguiano, Miguel Anguiano, Leticia Anguiano, Elva Anguiano, Benilde A. Jesse Lopez, and Edmundo Kerri Anguiano; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his sister, Dolores Moises Garcia, his brother, Mariano Consuelo Anguiano, and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009 in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home and continue through 9 p.m. this evening with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening at Darling-Mouser. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road, in Brownsville. Committal services will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Vicentes sons: Vicente Jr., Marco, Alberto, Miguel, Edmundo together with his grandson, Joshua Villazana are honored to be serving as his pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be his brother, Mariano Anguiano. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside under the direction of Commander Raul Leal and the American Legion Post 43 funeral honor guard.
