Violeta M. Carrasco, 80, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville on Sunday, February 21, 2016.
Mrs. Carrasco was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America; a volunteer at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville and Valley Regional Medical Center; Health To You Line Dancing. She was a Pet Rescuer, loved to gamble and play Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Maria S. Manzano; by her husband Carlos P. Carrasco; and sisters, Judy Manzano and Oralia M. Guzman.
Left to eternally treasure their memories of her are her sons, Rafael and Roberto Carrasco; 6 grandchildre- Rafael Carrasco, Ralph Anthony Carrasco, Carlos Roberto Carrasco, Carla Carrasco, Andrew Carrasco and Stephanie Joy Gregory; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Delia M. Phillips and Lydia M. Besteiro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Honored to be serving as her pallbearers are Eric Manzano, Ricardo Guzman, Orlando Elizondo, David Guajardo, Alfredo Barron and Andrew Carrasco. Honorary pallbearers will be Hector Guajardo, Rogelio Guajardo, Jonathan Guajardo and Rolando J. Guajardo.
