Thank you to the community for the multitude of thoughts and prayers, however, on April 7, 2011, Virginia Jenny Hollon Mathers passed away at the age of 45 at Sunshine Have Hospice Facility in Olmito, Texas.

She was born on August 31, 1965, in Brownsville Texas to James and Wanda Hollon.

Jenny was preceded in death by her father, James Frank Hollon.

Left to eternally treasure her memory is her loving husband of 26 years, Edward Mathers two daughters, Therese and Tatum Mathers mother, Wanda Hollon grandmother, Lorene Voltaggio her sister, Kathy Hollon her brother, James Hollon Jr. and his wife Amy three godchildren, Stacey and Susan Mauro and David Zamudio numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many, many friends.

A service in memory of Jenny Mathers will be led by Reverend Maurice L. Freidman at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Church of the Advent, Episcopal, 104 W. Elizabeth St. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. James Hollon Jr., Randall Mathers, William Mathers, Michael Stone, Everardo Villarreal, and Benjamin Zamudio are honored to be serving as Jennys pallbearers.

Jenny was an accomplished cosmetologist and homemaker to her two children. She was a lover of animals big and small, especially her five dogs. Being a native of the area, she gave back by attending charity events and donating auction items to help raise funds for childrens homes, turkey revitalization, and animal adoption agencies.

In lieu of flowers, the Mathers family is requesting that memorial gifts in Jennys name be made to the Brownsville Animal Defense Fund, in hopes of building a no kill shelter, 943 N. Expressway, Ste. 15, Box 150A, Brownsville, Texas 78520 or Sunshine Haven Inc., P.O. Box 4478, Brownsville, TX 78523
